Air hotels

Accommodations while in the air are as good as, or even better than, normal hotels.

Air hotels used to be akin to science fiction scenarios. These were conceived in the minds of visionaries who wanted flying to be as luxurious and comfortable as possible. Anyone who has flown to any destination would know that flying is not the most comfortable means of transportation, especially if one cannot afford a business class or first class ticket. With the numerous budget airline operating around the world today, flying has become more accessible but definitely not more comfortable.

With the vision of air hotels, however, flying can become as comfortable as any other means of transportation – even more comfortable, in fact. The whole idea behind an air hotel is that an individual flying on a long haul flight will be able to experience the very same comforts that he can have if he were staying in a luxurious hotel on land. In this way, he can forget that he is merely in transit to his destination.

Enough space in the room is one. Comfortable resting places such as beds and couches, too. Of course, one cannot forget about refreshments – drinks (both alcoholic and the non-alcoholic type) and good food. Then of course, there is entertainment. One of the biggest problems many people have when it comes to long distance flights is the fact that they get bored – and you cannot blame them! Imagine having to stay within enclosed quarters, 30,000 miles above the ground, for 18 hours in one go! This simple fact alone can drive one insane.

Add to that the fact that the activities that one can engage in are quite limited and restricted. With an air hotel, these limitations are stretched and more options are available. More choices when it comes to entertainment activities and facilities are provided – just like in a land-based hotel.

Business class and first class cabins might just make the barest definition of an air hotel if one considers the space, the service, and amenities that can be had.

Of course, one cannot discount the new Airbus 380 – the biggest and the “baddest” when it comes to airplanes. The Airbus 380 has suffered countless delays over the years but has finally started to fly. With its size, the possibilities when it comes to air hotels have suddenly become real. It now features a first class cabin hotel room.
